The ITU's meetings begin on Monday the 3rd. Next week, a closed, top-down organization with heavy representation from dictatorships could gain the power to shape the Internet's future. (Learn more here: http://internetcoup.org/)
The ITU would literally give dictators like Syria’s Assad (who’s trending today for--it seems--cutting Syria off from the Internet) a role in crucial decisions about the Internet’s future.
The thing is, there isn't much you can do about it if you're in the US. We need people contacting their ITU delegations from countries around the world, especially in Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
